Berkley-Huntington Woods Youth Assistance

Strengthening Families Through Community Involvement

Berkley-Huntington Woods Youth Assistance is a non-profit organization in Berkley, Michigan, that provides confidential, short-term family-centered counseling and referral services for young people, 16 years of age or younger, who reside in the Berkley School District.  Casework referrals are accepted from schools, police, neighbors, and parents with concerns about a child.

Berkley-Huntington Woods Youth Assistance is one of 26 local Youth Assistance offices that operate under the auspices of
Oakland County Youth Assistance.

Principal funding for Oakland County Youth Assistance is provided by the
Oakland County Board of Commissioners.

Berkley-Huntington Woods Youth Assistance operates under the tri-sponsorship and financial support of the following entities:

-The Municipalities of
Berkley and Huntington Woods, Michigan

The Berkley School District

The Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division

 

Additional, local financial support comes from:
-Local Businesses & Organizations in the Berkley School District
-Local PTAs/PTSAs in the Berkley School District
-Local Faith Communities in the Berkley School District
-and private citizens from the community 

 

 

 

Berkley-Huntington Woods Youth Assistance also provides a variety of non-casework services and programs in the community, including year-round Family Education Programs and Workshops, Skill Building and Summer Camp Scholarships, an annual Youth Recognition Awards Program, the Mel Ross Memorial Scholarship for a graduating senior, and the Mentors Plus program.
